We Are Not Hoarders

I just might be done 'downsizing' to our new house. We are going to Lake LBJ in Austin this weekend for an extended family vacation. I volunteered to bring the paper goods. For almost 20 people I only have to buy spoons and knives. I had that many stored away from my 'live in a storage-filled house days'. I also now have an extra shelf in the pantry and and entire cabinet under the 1/2 bath sink which can now house our water toys. A few months ago I got rid of all the extra cleaning supplies to a friend in need. When I say extra I mean like 2 boxes filled with everything you would ever need to clean a house and clothes. So, I officially just have what is needed and zero extra which is right where I want to be. In case you are wondering, when I quit work to stay home with Jake I thought we would be broke so I did the coupon/sale thing for a few months. Well, when I realized that we would in fact not be broke I stopped but was left with 5 years worth of cleaning supplies and paper goods. 2 years later we are back to normal and we fit into our house. Thank you Jesus.

Also, we went to the in-laws last weekend. This what you do there. Unless you are me and sit in the car.

The Gym

So, I joined a gym. I have not worked out except for the occasional run since I had Jake. So 2 years ago. Rett was already a member of our churches gym so I tagged on his membership. It is $45 for Rett, me and childcare for Jake. I wanted to join the Y across the street form our house but it was $90 for just Jake and I. Can't justify that. Plus, the church is about 5 minutes from our house. Anyway, I have gone twice. I'm sore. And tired. You can get out of shape after 2 years of nothingness. I don't like people to see me work out. I run at night so no one can see my red, crazy running face. Luckily, there are like 5 people in the gym when I go. I guess people actually work at 9am...Gotta go sit somewhere. And maybe take a nap...

Cracker For A Cracker

  • If Jake says cracker one more time I will throw myself on the ground and have a tantrum.
  • Today I got a facial, manicure and pedicure. It was a good day.
  • I also joined the gym. We will see...
  • Jake thinks grilled zucchini is a cracker and eats it.
  • I watch Ice Loves Coco. Don't judge. It is WAY less trashy than the bachelor type shows and the things they do/say I actually think 'I should be like that towards Rett.'
  • Jake is getting a haircut tomorrow. Say a prayer. He screams like the woman is cutting his ear off with those scissors. He has had like a million haircuts so far. You'd think he would be used to it.
  • I made Jake's year 2 scrapbook. And by scrapbook I mean I used a template from Walgreen's.com and uploaded some pictures. But it is done.
  • Jake just said crackers. See ya.
Jake loves this car mat more than life itself.

Excuse the coloring but this is why he needs a haircut every other week.

He Wishes

So, normally I go to the grocery store on Monday mornings as soon as Jake finishes breakfast. Well, it is supposedly going to rain tomorrow so I decided to go today after church. I went to a smaller but closer HEB since Rett will be out of town this week and I don't need as much food. As I'm putting my things on the conveyor belt someone says 'sure is busy today.' I look up and almost let out a yelp. It was a man. In women's clothes. And by women's clothes I mean a skirt and sports bra. Of course I laughed. In his face. Yes I said his. I will not participate in his games. I am not politically correct. He paid for his food and walked out. The cashier and I had a good laugh. And to think if I had gone to the normal HEB I would have missed it.

John Deere Green

Yesterday was Jake's 2nd birthday party. When I planned the party I didn't realize it was Easter weekend but I guess since he was due Easter Sunday it will always be close. It was at a school playground about a block from our house. Could not have been easier. We had pizza, fruit and cookies. I actually made the cookies but will never do that again. Baking them is not hard it is the icing that makes them look like Jake did it. Jake took about 2 bites but did eat some dough while we baked them. I actually have a few pictures since I was trying to document the event for my parents who were at home recovering.

Pastel Pizza

Apparently Easter=pastels. This means no boyish Easter items. I stood at Target for 5 minutes staring and found 1 basket that was somewhat suitable for a boy. ALL the eggs were pastels. And we wonder why boys these days are so wimpy...

Life has been a bit hectic these days so as we left Target I decided Jake and I needed a little pizza party. I got 1 personal pan pizza to share and that was gone in 2 minutes by you know who so I had to go get another so I wouldn't starve.

Speaking of pizza, Jake's birthday party is this weekend. He is excited about the party and I'm excited about the pizza. I'm using 3 free pizzas I earned from Papa John's points on the party. If he only knew what a sacrifice that was to waste use them on not me. We are having Jake's favorite foods - pizza, strawberries and blueberries. Instead of cake (which he still doesn't like) I'm making cookies. At a party last weekend he took 1 bite of a cupcake and ran off...

My mom donated her kidney to my dad a few days ago. She is going home today and by home I mean our house since he is still recovering in the hospital and she can't drive for a while. Aren't they cute?

Girls Already?

Last night when I picked Jake up from church his teacher said he had a new girlfriend. Well, apparently Jake has like 10 because it is someone new each week. I have no idea who 1/2 these girls are. I decided I need to get him some friends that are boys. I'm not a big fan of the boyfriend/girlfriend talk at age 2. Well, today after Mother's Day Out I asked Jake who he played with and he said 'Noah!'. I am a happy camper.
